COLORECTAL CANCER SCREENING PROGRAM

The joint medical practice of Drs. Steuerwald and Vögtlin is participating in the "Colorectal Cancer Screening of both Basel" program. You can find more detailed information at www.screening-darm.ch. This program allows for a colonoscopy with a limited co-payment of approximately 150 Swiss Francs, regardless of your insurance deductible. However, the cost of the medications required for bowel preparation is not included in this flat rate and can be billed through your health insurance.

For a preventive colonoscopy within the framework of the program, you can either register directly with us or obtain a referral from your primary care physician.

To schedule a colonoscopy through the program at the joint medical practice of Drs. Steuerwald and Vögtlin, the following conditions apply:

• You have sent us your registration confirmation from the program (via e-mail or mail).
• You have scheduled a consultation (a counseling session covered by the program) with us or have been referred to us by your primary care physician.

If these two conditions are not met, the regular fees will be billed according to the Health Insurance Act (KVG) and NOT through the program's flat rate.
During the counseling session at our practice, we will take your medical history, record current diagnoses and their treatment, and provide instructions for bowel preparation along with dispensing the necessary medications.
